Powerful as a hurricane, the Big Horn Armory Cat 5 represents the next evolution of the modern lever-action rifle; purpose-built for shooters who demand both uncompromising power and contemporary tactical capability. Developed in response to strong customer feedback, the Cat 5 brings a modernized configuration to Big Horn Armory’s renowned large-bore platform while maintaining the brute force that has defined the brand.

Chambered in the formidable .500 S&W Magnum, the Cat 5 is built on Big Horn Armory’s proven 17-4 stainless-steel action and features a 16-inch threaded barrel for suppressor or muzzle device compatibility. A collaboration with Ranger Point Tactical adds a robust fore-end and Picatinny-style scout rail system, allowing shooters to easily mount optics, lights, and other accessories, transforming the traditional lever gun into a versatile, modern hunting or defensive platform.

Despite its rugged capability, the Cat 5 remains compact and well-balanced at 36 inches overall length and 7 lbs. 12 oz., with a 6-round capacity and 1:24 twist rate. A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad helps tame the recoil of this powerhouse rifle.

The .500S&W Magnum chambering lets the CAT 5 shoot bullets from 200grains to a truck-stopping 700grains.  This incredible weight range combined with the availability of almost any style and type of bullet imaginable makes the CAT 5 capable of taking any game animal walking the planet.

Like all Model 89s, the CAT 5 comes with a hunter-friendly curved- lever for comfortable, positive cycling of the action, even with gloved hands.
